Bangalore Photography Club

This year FOM 08 received submission from all over the country (1200 +) it was a challenge to pick the best frames and restrict it to under 80.
Exhibition was inaugurated by Mr. Yusuf Arakal on 29th Aug and we have Akkalmal Ramachandran noted gallery owner, writer & an artist also present during the inauguration.

While inaugurating Yusuf said that he was mesmerized to the quality of images. He also said that painting involves visualization of the end result and one has time to improvise as they progress, but in case of photography you have a split second to do the same … and to capture such work and present is an achievement. Bangalore photography club by conducting such event is providing a platform to aspiring professional which never existed before.

Media also has been extremely supportive – Deccan cronical, Bangalore mirror, Times of India, Indian express, Mid day, Hindu, and also news channels like Zee Kannada gave us a wonderful coverage. We thank them for their support.

This year also we had two workshop/talks on photography, Sethuraman of Pixetra spoke to us about what not to do in photography… he walked us right from the basics of photography, through the features of camera, to how should one approach to select kind of photography that will work for us.
On Sunday, we had Ryan Lobo talking to us about How to approach photo documentaries… by showcasing some of his work and how he approached… end of the talk I am sure all of were spell bound by his work and also walked out with some really valuable insight on how to approach photo documentaries…

In total over three days we had a good foot fall of 600 + people who in spite of the rains came in to see our works. Thanks to all of you.
