“Frames of Mind 07 ” - A Photography Rendezvous was Bangalore Photography Club’s second annual photography exhibition. It was held from 8th to 10th June at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (near Chalukya Hotel) Race Course Road, Bangalore. After a phenomenal success of our Club’s first exhibition in 2006, Frames of Mind– 07 offered an exciting platter of breathtaking photographic works from professional and hobby photographers. It’s a presentation of emotions and passions captured & frozen in frames. Also, as part of our exhibition Bangalore photography club conducted work shops on Basic Photography Skills. Frames of Mind 2007 was inaugurated by Mr. N. Achuta Rao Commissioner of Police Bangalore. Mr. Rao in spite of his busy schedule on 8th June with President of India being in Bangalore spent one and a Half hours with us. Mr.Rao spent time individually with participants trying to understand the technicality & also was curious to know as to what was going on in the photographers mind when he took a particular picture. Mr. Rao’s said “I came with the intention of not spending more then 20 min, but I was mesmerized with the quality & collection of pictures that I did not even realize that I spent 1 & ½ hours.” ![]() This year we also saw many eminent veteran photographers visit us at the exhibition. We had quite a few senior & founding members of YPS visit us. President & ex presidents of YPS were there. We had various comments from them Mr. Hebbar said “YPS might have organized exhibitions but will never match the quality of pictures & presentation that Bangalore photography club has achieved. It is easy to sit in meetings and talk big but to put an exhibition like this they have to visit here and see.” One ex president of YPS commented that there have been so many exhibition but it is nice to see some new names and some variety, which is different from the all the exhibitions. The club this year received over 450 entries, of which 70 – 75 of the best pictures were displayed in the 3 day exhibition. In total over three days we had a total foot fall of 500 + visitors and an amazing response from corporate who are now interested in tying up with BPC. Also we saw a very good response from buyers where we sold more then twice the number of pictures then last year. With some pictures being sold twice. Media has been extremely supportive to us this year. Not only did we get amazing coverage during the Exhibition but also before & after the exhibition. India Express, The Hindu, Midday gave us a pre exhibition coverage & Deccan Herald, Times of India, Bangalore Mirror, Kannada Prabha, PrajaVani gave us coverage during the exhibition in addition to the newspapers mentioned above.
