nice pic..good color reproduction. Interesting to see whats the loss in Image Quality due to use if a Converter.

While side profile shorts are appealing in one way..the do flatten the image to a large extent. if possible u shd put ur cam in continuous n shoot different views.! I dont have 300mm Prime..tats wat i wud have done if i did :P

Also a minor thing, the end of the stem on which the bird is sitting has gone n got merged off to the beak creating a weird effect in the centre of photo..some space there maybe wud be nice.

Ofcourse all this are just hand picked just for the sake of comments..otherwise a great pic.

Enjoy.

Hi Biraj

First of all nice to see my TC is in use in your hand. Secondly nice to see such a lovely bird in full details. Though this is called Common Kingfisher, but it is rather uncommon compared to White Throated Kingfisher. Also since Common Kingfisher is rather smaller you have to use the TC to get closer to it. And there is the big question - how to get good details even with the TC? If you compare this shot with the brown shrike, you will see that the kingfisher lacks good details and sharpness. You have to tweek with photoshop to bring them out. Check out my version after applying three filters - Focus Magic to bring the eyes in more focus, Topaz details enhancer to bring out the details and finally Nik Dfine to reduce the noise. I didn't apply any sharpener at all!
